Had Pharaoh’s ministers– ovdei Paro— protested Pharaoh’s corrupt regime, they could have saved Egypt from self-destruction. Instead, whether out of cowardice or political expedience, they suppressed their voices and silenced their collective conscience. Their story ended with grief and devastation for the Egyptians, but our story is still being written. Today we remember that blind obedience is a concession to empire, and there is nothing neutral about inaction in the face of evil.
