Our Memorial Czech Scroll

Our Memorial Czech Scroll — MST #28 (Memorial Scrolls Trust)

Our Memorial Czech Holocaust Torah Scroll comes from Pinkas Synagogue in Prague.

The Pinkas Synagogue is the second oldest surviving synagogue in Prague. Today, the synagogue is administered by the Jewish Museum in Prague and commemorates about 78,000 Czech Jewish victims of the Holocaust.

The Memorial Scrolls Trust, located in London, acquired over 1500 Czech Scrolls that survived World War II, though most of their communities did not. Following restoration, the Scrolls have been generously shared with synagogues around the world on permanent loan to link contemporary communities with those that perished under the Nazi regime.

IKAR is grateful to have one of these scrolls and to be part of the deeply important work of the Memorial Scrolls Trust — to honor the memories of the people and communities destroyed by the Nazis.

This Torah is on permanent loan from the Memorial Scrolls Trust in London: http://www.memorialscrollstrust.org/

We lovingly hold this Torah in our community to ensure that the memories of all those who perished be a blessing.
