Help gather signatures for Schools & Communities First:
Despite being the 5th largest economy in the world, California’s schools rank in the bottom 10 percent in funding, nationally. Schools and Communities First, a measure we are seeking to place on the November 2020 ballot, will change that.
SCF will reclaim over $11 billion every year for California’s schools and local communities by closing a Proposition 13 loophole, bringing tax rates for commercial and industrial property owners up to 2020 levels, without affecting small businessowners, homeowners and renters. This small change will restore $11 billion every year to fund world-class schools and strengthen local services to lift up all Californians.
We are committed to gathering 500 signatures in hopes of getting SCF on the November ballot. Help us reach our goal!
Help get an accurate count of people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles:
Every January, thousands of volunteers across Los Angeles County embark on a mission to count our homeless neighbors. This annual count provides a critical picture of community members experiencing homelessness within LA County to help our public agencies and service providers better direct resources.
The 2020 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count needs you. No experience is necessary; you will be trained. The count is a safe and a meaningful way to engage in the movement to combat homelessness.
*January 21, 2020 – San Gabriel and San Fernando Valley
*January 22, 2020 – West Los Angeles, Southeast Los Angeles and the South Bay
*January 23, 2020 – Antelope Valley, Metro Los Angeles and South Los Angeles
