Bernadette was born in America’s bicentennial year… in Budapest, Hungary. The adventure bug was laid early in Bernadette’s life. After defecting with her mother, she bounced around until finally landing in Los Angeles. Her interests in yoga and language led to a 15 year study of Ashtanga yoga and Sanskrit. Traveling and studying in India offered her the opportunity to ride a motorcycle through the countryside with little knowledge of mechanics or whether a km is half or double that of a mile. Her happy place will always find her outside gardening, organizing, painting or just cleaning. Finding IKAR gave Bernadette the connect to Judaism that she has sought for many years. Whether it’s singing — despite being tone deaf — or praying, and despite not knowing the proper pronunciation, Bernadette has fallen in love with the spirit of IKAR and the spirit of Judaism. She lives with her husband, Bryan and her three daughters.
