Parent and Me Classes

IKAR’s Parent and Me classes focus on nurturing friendship, curiosity, respect, and Jewish identity for young children and their parents. During each class, we will learn together through music, art, cooking and play. Our parent discussions will focus on both the takhlis (nitty gritty) of parenting and also on what it means to be a Jewish parent.

The Spring/Summer 2013 session of IKAR’s Parent and Me program offers five different classes:

Thursday Shabbat Classes

Toddler Class  Thursdays from 9:00am to 10:30am

For children one year old through nursery school age, who must be walking. Cost is $360 per family.

CLOSED Infant Class  Thursdays from 11:30am to 12:30pm

For children from birth to one year old. Cost is $300 per family.

SPRING/SUMMER 2013 Dates (12 classes): 4/11, 4/18, 4/25, 5/1, 5/8, 5/22, 5/29, 6/6, 6/13, 7/11, 7/18, 7/25

Sunday Class

Family Class  Sundays from 9:30am to 11:00am

For children from birth through nursery school age. Cost is $360 per family.

SPRING/SUMMER 2013 Dates (12 classes): 4/14, 4/21, 4/28, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19, 6/2, 6/9, 6/16, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21 

We are also pleased to offer our new Little Jewish Chefs class again this session.  Parents and children will enjoy preparing and noshing on a recipe based on a story or project introduced by our cooking teacher, Chef Debbie.

Monday Class

           Little Jewish Chefs  Mondays from 10:00am to 10:45am

           For children ages 18-30 months.  Cost is $330 per family.

SPRING/SUMMER 2013 Dates (11 classes): 4/15, 4/29, 5/13, 5/20, 6/3, 6/10, 6/24, 7/1, 7/8, 7/15, 7/22

Join us for our newest Parent & Me offering: Little Jewish Yogis!  Enjoy yoga through storytelling as you and your child have fun and move your bodies with our ECC yoga specialist, Morah Stephanie.

Tuesday Class

            Little Jewish Yogis  Tuesdays from 11:30am-12:15pm

            For children ages 18-30 months.  Cost is $150 per family.

Spring/Summer 2013 Dates (6 classes): 4/16, 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/14, 5/21

Classes will be facilitated by IKAR’s Early Childhood Director of Parent Education and Admissions, Beth Weisman, and other members of our highly qualified and passionate IKAR ECC faculty.

Classes will be held at our new ECC location, 1564 Burnside Avenue, LA, 90019 (at the corner of Venice Boulevard and Burnside Avenue).
