High Holy Days

Prepare Yourself for the High Holy Days

Lend a Helping Hand: Volunteer with us during the High Holy Days

We need over 600 volunteers to make the High Holy Days happen. Whether you can do last-minute shopping in the days leading up to the Holy Days, or you’re more of a stand-at-the-door-and-greet-people type of person, we have things for you to do. Please help us out!

Share Memories of Your Loved Ones

Share stories of loved ones who have died this year or in years past for our Yizkor book for Yom Kippur. Submit your stories of loved ones here. Deadline is September 23 at 11:59 pm.

Green Action IKARpool options

Our Green Action Committee is offering opportunities to carpool to all HHD services.

Purchase Mahzor Lev Shalem

Purchase your very own High Holy Day prayer book, and if you’re feeling extra generous, purchase another one to donate to IKAR.

Past Events:

Selihot Programming

Saturday, September 16, 8:30 pm at Beit T’Shuvah

Selihot are a series of communal prayers asking for forgiveness, recited in the days leading up to the High Holy Days, beginning the Saturday before Rosh Hashanah. We will delve deep into the personal and political practice of teshuva – return, or repentance.

We will join community members from Beit T’Shuvah and Shtibl for Havdalah, music, and services as we transition towards the HHDs. No RSVP required.

High Holy Day House Parties

We hosted a handful of house parties in the run-up to the High Holies – evenings of learning and conversation with our rabbis and fellow IKARites that will stretch your mind, heart, and soul. If you missed them – don’t worry! We’ll have more house parties throughout the year!
