Know Your Reps Meetings

Minyan Tzedek Organizing launches our “Know Your Reps” campaign on Saturday, Nov. 4, 12:30 pm -1:30 pm with State Senator Ben Allen. Senator Allen (SD 25) represents the westside, from Hollywood to Santa Monica and the coastal South Bay. He will stay for lunch and conversation after Shabbat services.

Join us in building relationships with our elected officials so we can make our voice heard from City Hall, to Sacramento, to Washington D.C.

You can also find out if Senator Allen is your representative by checking the “Know Your Reps” card you got in your IKARd or click here.

Join IKAR organizers on two canvassing days, Nov. 5 and Nov. 12 in Santa Clarita to support the DREAM Act. Email Minyan Tzedek Organizing for more info and to sign up.

Phone bank to support the DREAM ACT
With our partners at LA Voice, we are participating in virtual phone banks for the next several weeks asking people in key congressional districts to call their representatives and urge them to pass the Dream Act without funding for a wall or increased enforcement and incarceration.

Please fill out this form to receive log-in credentials for LA Voice’s Dream Act Virtual Phone Bank. You will need a computer, internet access and a telephone.

End Gun Violence:

Read Rabbi Brous’ statement on the Las Vegas mass murder. Then ACT.

Call your members of congress:
-Tell your House Member to oppose the Sportsmen Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act (SHARE Act) which would deregulate gun silencers. It was pulled from the House floor today because of public outcry but may be brought back later. Keep calling!
-Tell your Senators to oppose Senate Bill 446, the concealed carry reciprocity bill.

*If you were at HHDs, use your “Know Your Reps” card included in your IKARds.
